About Cuticles and Breton Naturals Organic Cuticle Balm:
The purpose of the cuticle is to protect the nail. But if you’re anything like me, you’re
constantly washing your hands, which results in dry, brittle cuticles. If you then scrape back
your cuticles while they’re dry and hard, you’ll end up with ragged, damaged skin which is
ripe for infection. Since high school, I’ve had a bad habit of picking at my cuticles, and I end
up with “hang-nails”: nasty, red, inflamed bits of skin on the ragged edge of my cuticles. This
sad state of affairs leads to bacterial infection, swelling and pain! Not good! The solution is
simple: moisturize your cuticles regularly and especially after washing your hands, doing
dishes, immersing your fingers in harsh cleaning chemicals (I know I should wear rubber gloves
…)
Breton Naturals Organic Cuticle Balm contains rich, nourishing, natural ingredients that will
soften your cuticles and help them heal. Beeswax has amazing anti-inflammatory properties,
and also forms a water-resistant barrier to help protect your cuticles from drying out, and
also from invading bacteria. Virgin coconut oil is packed with fatty acids that provide deep
moisturizing benefits to skin. Sweet almond oil has long been known for its moisturizing and
skin healing properties, and hemp oil contains essential fatty acids and soothes inflammation.
Mango butter is packed with nutrients and vitamins, and is a star when it comes to increasing
the elasticity of the skin and making it more supple. Mango butter is especially good at
softening and healing the skin of the cuticle. Clary Sage essential oil is anti-bacterial and
good for overall skin health. Lavender essential oil calms redness and irritation, and also
smells amazing! At Breton Naturals, we never use artificial fragrance. You can rest easy in the
knowledge that all our scents (and colours) are from 100% natural sources.
We hope you enjoy using our cuticle balm; your hands and nails will thank you for it!
Find your future beautiful with Breton Naturals.
All Natural:
Breton Naturals Organic Cuticle
Balm is made with all natural
ingredients. Our wildflower
beeswax is from a Nova Scotia
farm, and our traditionally
harvested, virgin coconut oil is
from a fair trade community
source in Ghana, which helps
women and children find work
and income. Each balm is
gently scented with 100% pure
essential oils.
Hi, my name is Anne and
I’m a Master Herbalist and
Naturopath. Together with my
husband Paul (an engineer
and renewable energy
specialist) we created Breton
Naturals, a 100% off grid
company. Our skincare products
are handmade in small batches
right here in Nova Scotia, using
carefully curated formulas and
natural ingredients.
A Word about Scent:
If you’re used to the strong
(and sometimes overpowering)
artificial fragrances in many
bath and body lines, you may
find Breton Naturals products
to have a less obvious aroma.
Because we use only 100% pure,
natural essential oils and
fragrance oil blends to scent
our products, the resulting
aroma can be quite subtle. The
fact is, our fragrances are not
only added for their beautiful,
natural scent: they are active
ingredients in their own right,
bringing important therapeutic
properties to the product. If
you continue to use naturally
fragranced products in your
skincare regime, eventually
your nose will become more
discerning, and attuned to the
more subtle aromas of pure,
natural fragance. We encourage
you to give them a try!
